WELCOME TO DRAPER OF GLASTONBURY
R. J. Draper & Co Ltd was established in 1937 and is still owned by the same family. Our factory is based in the south west of England in Glastonbury, which is traditionally the centre of the UK’s sheepskin industry dating back a thousand years. Four generations of the Draper family have run the business, and we are now the oldest manufacturers of sheepskin footwear in the United Kingdom. We specialise in high quality sheepskin slippers, boots and accessories in a wide range of designs which are sold throughout the world.
Handmade in Great Britain since 1937
We have been making sheepskin footwear for over 85 years and the company is still owned by the Draper family. There is evidence of leathermaking on our site dating back to 1886 and the Glastonbury area itself has been famous for sheepskin since the 12th century AD when the monks of Glastonbury Abbey started tanning skins. We use traditional techniques to make our sheepskin boots and footwear, which have been passed down through many generations.
Luxury sheepskin slippers and sheepskin boots
We offer a wide range of sheepskin products including sheepskin gloves and sheepskin lined slippers and boots too. Each pair is individually handcrafted, and will take around four weeks to make. Our skilled craftsmen have a lifetime of experience working with sheepskin and leather, with many generations of the same local families having worked in our factory.
